Flatpak began as a product design and manufacturing company, focusing on wood and panel-based furniture that combined functionality, precision, and efficient production. By embracing digital fabrication and in-house manufacturing, we developed a strong foundation in craftsmanship, material optimisation, and quality control. Every product was designed with the belief that great design should be practical, sustainable, and built to last.
As we worked closely with clients, we realised that furniture was only one part of a much bigger picture. The success of a space depends not only on the pieces within it, but on how the entire environment is planned, experienced, and brought together. This understanding inspired us to expand beyond product design into interior design and build.
Founded by two professionals trained in architecture, Flatpak has always approached projects with a design-first mindset. Architectural thinking continues to shape the way we create spaces—balancing aesthetics, functionality, user experience, and technical precision. Today, we design commercial and residential interiors that are not only visually compelling but also carefully planned to support the people who use them every day.
Our services now span concept development, space planning, interior design, project management, custom cabinetry, bespoke joinery, and complete design-and-build solutions. What makes Flatpak unique is our ability to seamlessly integrate design with in-house manufacturing. Operating from our manufacturing facility in Johor Bahru, we produce custom cabinetry and joinery with complete control over quality, detailing, timelines, and installation.
